Re-enchantment of the World’s 1st Anniversary!

Today’s the day – the first birthday of our blog! πŸ™‚ Who would’ve thought it would live so long, keeping tenaciously to the at-least-two-entries-a-week regime, hooking its claws in us so deeply that now we feel compelled to write something, anything, and read that book faster, damnit! πŸ˜‰

Ola: Well, not me, for sure. It’s not that I predicted it would be short-lived or something, it’s just that I decided no to plan that long in the future. Our attitude was one of “let’s start it and see what happens”. It could have exploded but, surprisingly, it didn’t.
And one year later it’s still alive and kicking, with 113 entries so far, staunch (albeit rather reticent) supporters and guests from all over the world.
So, what now? Let’s keep up the work of writing, good or bad, and the very real pleasure of reading, and maybe a year from today we’ll meet at the same place, over 220 entries under our belts and lots of great books and movies and comics read and watched and slobbered over (not to mention dissected and analyzed and digested… but better not follow this metaphor through to its organic end!)
Piotrek: I am… pleasantly surprised it lasts. Apparently a writing team of two works better for me than a personal blog, it helps with the discipline. First time I was able to maintain regular writing for so long πŸ™‚ and that’s including a way too long adventure with my master’s thesis. I definitely read more, and I am a more attentive reader, always keeping in mind I may need to write about the books I read. That’s great by itself, and if anybody reads what I write, it’s even better.
Stats of our blog are getting better all the time (but maybe not good enough to disclose yet ;))
Well, here’s to hope it’s only the first of many years πŸ™‚ And that the supply of great books worth reading will never end πŸ˜‰

Cheers!
